Enhanced Safety in damp Conditions with Asymmetrical 20” and 22” Tires

Road safety with better tires has been given tremendous attention in recent times, and there are newer designs and concepts that have been implemented as well. This is especially the case with design patterns. In fact, manufacturers have been radical in their thoughts, and have come up with a number of approaches in order to produce the best results. One of their approaches has been the concept of asymmetrical tires. This is a concept that has drastically changed the way tires perform. As the term ‘asymmetrical’ suggests, it refers to an irregular pattern. This is precisely what these tires are about. They have two different sets of designs on each tire. It is as though two different tires are joined together in the middle. However, these asymmetrical 20” and 22” tires are made this way, as they improve road grip considerably especially when you’re driving in wet conditions. With more tread grooves on the inside of the tire it can disperse water more effectively. The outer side makes tremendous contact with the road, thereby, maintaining a balance, and this is reflected in high speed cornering due to a plainer surface on this outer side. Since asymmetric tires non directional, you can place them on either side of your car. However, there is no inside and outside mounting point, which means that you must mount the correct side by the fitter. These tires must always have the outside facing outside for desired effects. Additionally, it must be said that it can be dangerous to mount the tire the wrong way as it would be an MOT failure. Such a failure can mean a dreadful accident. Usually, once the tire is already mounted on your asymmetrical 20” rims or 22” rims, you won’t need to dismount it. You can easily rotate the same wheel, which is considered a normal practice. Rotation is considered to be a good practice as it prevents tires from being worn out on one particular side of the car. Usually, if your car is a front drive, the tires in front will get worn out quicker. The same is true if you have a rear wheel drive. Looking after your tires is most important in order to secure your safety. While people look after their tires for beauty, safety is more important. Your asymmetrical 20” and 22” tires should be checked regularly in order to determine if there are any changes occurring to their physical structure. Although they appear to be robust, they do take a beating daily under the weight of your car and on merciless terrain. Regular inspection is of tremendous importance, and you must make sure you get down on your knees to get a good look at the inner sides of your tires. Look for tears and bulges and anything else that may look odd. Take your car to an expert immediately if you detect anything out of place. This is most important, as it can mean a matter a life and death if you have an accident due to a tear or bulge that opens up while you’re travelling out on the road. Also take special care of your asymmetrical tires, as these are great for traveling in wet conditions.
